Cultured Marble
Cultured marble countertops are not suitable for kitchens, as they will scratch and chip under normal kitchen use, but they are perfectly suited for bathrooms. They look like real marble, but they are actually a man-made resin that is much more affordable. Some benefits of Cultured marble are:
- Non-pourous surface - resist stains and mildew
- Integral Sink option - cultured marble countertops can be ordered with the sinks built right in (versus drop-in bowls)
- Can be used on almost every surface, including shower walls, tub decks and flooring
- Easy to clean
- Beautiful and stylish

Unique Vanity Materials
For a unique, modern look, today's bathroom vanity materials are expanding to include some rather unexpected selections. Stainless-steel countertops are low maintenance and look fabulous in a contemporary bath. If it's of good quality, it gets more beautiful with time. Glass can also be striking and modern, but it's a challenge to keep it free of fingerprints, and solid slabs can be pricey. One alternative is to use glass tiles. Other materials include brass, copper, slate, onyx and more. These products tend to be expensive and often require custom-ordering; but the design possibilities are endless.
